Hello and welcome! My name is Elisabeth Drake, and I am delighted to meet you!
Imagine this: We’re having coffee while I tell you a little about myself, my company, and how we help small business owners prioritize time and energy for their loved ones and their passion projects.
I formed my virtual assistance firm both to help you with your business essentials and to use my creativity in new ways.
I’m a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with the heart of an artist. A musician by training, I’ve been working in the financial services industry for nearly 20 years where I’ve honed my natural bent toward business administration and customer service.
In addition to first-class customer service, finding and using the right words are a top priority here as this business is mainly about blogging, marketing, and research.
In fact, that’s where the business name, Primer & Scout, came from.
Primer . . . as in your schoolbook . . . represents the writing and researching aspect of what we do here.
Scout . . . as in an advance scout (or the name of my favorite character in To Kill a Mockingbird) . . . stands in for the marketing and strategic planning that we do for you.
You likely noticed that the business name sounds just a little vintage, which is intentional.
We are a classic here — bringing value to your business through a timeless, quality work ethic.

Well, I am nearly completely fueled by Jesus and coffee. It’s not just a tee shirt slogan; you’ll find that I really love both. Now, if I must choose what kind of coffee to take, I’m an espresso kind of gal . . .as long as there’s whole milk involved.
So, really I’m a latte kind of gal pretending to have a stronger constitution!
You’ll find that I love details and design, which I think of as orderliness interrupted by beautiful surprises! More than that, I love words. Yes, you read that right. Words are some of my favorite things—and one of my very favorite things (especially as a sometime songwriter) is an unexpected turn of phrase.
